Step 1:
TO SETUP YOUR MAILBOX
- Dial the access number 291-MAIL
(291-6245)
- Key in your mailbox number – Your mailbox number and your phone number are the same
- Listen to the tutorial that will guide you in setting up your mailbox
- Record a passcode, a personal greeting and your name
- Input the default passcode 1234 when asked and then change it to your personal four to ten digit passcode
- Press 8 for user options.
Step 2:
TO ACCESS YOUR MAILBOX
From Your Phone
- Dial the access number 291-MAIL
(291-6245)
From Any Other Phone
- Dial the access number 291-MAIL (291-6245)
- Key in your mailbox number when prompted - Your mailbox number and your phone number are the same
- Press * (or 99 if auto play)
- Press # * if you are unable to retrieve messages using * only
- Key in your passcode when prompted
Step 3:
TO PLAY A MESSAGE
- Access your mailbox
- Press 7 to play. – The system will automatically play messages tagged urgent first
- Press 5 to keep the message. – Kept messages cannot be accessed until you have listened to all of your unplayed messages
- Press 3 to discard the message
- Press 8 for telephone call option. – Easy Answer one-touch call return option
- Press 2 to return the call
Step 4:
TO MAKE A MESSAGE
- Access your mailbox
- Press 6 to make a message
- Enter the recipient’s number or distribution list number
- Press #
- Record a message after the tone
- For message addressing options Press 6
- To send a message and exit Press 9
Step 5:
TO MAKE A DISTRIBUTION LIST
A distribution list allows you to record a single message and send it to multiple recipients without addressing them all individually.
- Press 8 to access the user options menu
- For distribution lists Press 5
- Enter the number of the distribution list. – All lists must begin with “0”
- To record a name for the list – For example “Football Team Parents” Press 6
- To add members Press 2
- To remove members Press 3
- To playback and verify entries Press 7
- To exit the main menu Press 9
Step 6:
TO ACCESS YOUR USER OPTIONS MENU
A distribution list allows you to record a single message and send it to multiple recipients without addressing them all individually.
- Press 8 to access the user options menu
- For distribution lists Press 5
- Enter the number of the distribution list. – All lists must begin with “0”
- To record a name for the list – For example “Football Team Parents” Press 6
- To add members Press 2
- To remove members Press 3

- To exit the main menu Press 9
Step 7:
MESSAGE NOTIFICATION
Voice Mail notifies you when a new message arrives in your mailbox. You will hear and interrupted (stuttered) dial tone when you pick up the receiver or see a message waiting lamp display (available with some telephone sets).
