The Bermuda Telephone Company, Limited has established a Fund to be known as “The Sir John Cox Career Development Fund”.

This Fund was set up in 1983 to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of Sir John W. Cox, Kt., C.B.E., and J.P., as a Director and Past President of the company to provide a Career Development Award, which will enable suitably qualified Bermudians to pursue higher education abroad.

The Award provided by this Fund will be used to obtain a University Degree or other professional or technical qualification. Only one award will be made available in any calendar year. The Award will be made on the basis of merit, moral character, and general all around academic ability of the applicant. Consideration will also be given to the future employment needs within BTC and Bermuda. While preference will be given to degrees in the fields of Telecommunications, IT and Electrical Engineering; applicants pursuing other business related degrees are encouraged to apply.

Applications should be forwarded under “CONFIDENTIAL” cover to Ms. Aiyetoro Thompson, Human Resources Manager Learning & Development, Department of Human Resources, 30 Victoria Street, Hamilton, marked “CAREER DEVELOPMENT AWARD”, by 31st May, 2012. All Applications will be acknowledged.
